After a short visit to Dhagpo Kagyu Ling, His Holiness Gyalwa Karmapa returned to Kundreul Ling to undertake a new retreat, along with Nendo Rinpoche. It may last at least to the end of this year. This retreat – like the previous one that took place between May and August – is in response to a request from Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche. His Holiness will grant no interview during this time.

Gyalwa Karmapa, Gyaltrul Rinpoche, Droupsing Rinpoche and Nendo Rinpoche previously received from Kenchen Trinle Peldjor Rinpoche the complete transmission of the Six Yogas of Naropa.

During his stay at Kundreul Ling, Khenchen Rinpoche kindly accepted to take part in rituals with us. He also gave teachings and instructions, as well as loungs, such as Patrul Rinpoche’s " sNying thig sngon ‘gdro’i khrid yig kun bzang bla ma’i zhal lung " (Words of my Perfect Teacher). In addition, we benefited from the advice and help of Lama Tsultrim Namgyal, attendant to the late 16th Karmapa, and now of the 17th Karmapa ; and from Lama Purba, secretary of Gyaltrul Rinpoche.

Jigme Rinpoche reminded us many times of the great merit accumulated by practicing in the close proximity of the Karmapa, particularly during this time of retreat. Many came here to enjoy this ideal situation for practice and many more are expected.

Shamar Rinpoche stressed the fact that such an event is "  a privilege and an extremely fortunate situation " ; he also mentionned that this very place " is a receptacle perfectly blessed by all the masters who consecreted it ; it is a powerful land, a place for pilgrimage where all the conditions for the practice are established in a very stable way ".
