Lopon Rinpoche
            H.E
Lopon Tenzin Jigme Rinpoche III, a reincarnated tulku born in
Taiwan in 1960, is the tripa (senior head) of the
Karma Kagyu Monastery -- seat of the Gyalwa Karmapas
in Taiwan. H.H. Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche, the Red-Crown holder
and the regent of the Karma Kagyu lineage, recognized Lopon Rinpoche in 1991, and enthroned him in Rumtek Monastery, Sikkim.
              Rinpoche
was one of major disciples of the 15th Gyalwa Karmapa in his former
life. He was appointed as Dorje Lopon (Vajra master) in the Tsurpu Monastery,
headquarters of the Karma Kagyu lineage in Tibet. Besides, he hosted
the cremation ceremony of the 15th Karmapa and the enthronement ceremony of the 16th Karmapa.
              Karma
Kagyu Monastery is a grand-scale Tibetan monastery set in south Taiwan.
H.E. Lopon Rinpoche started to construct this monastery in 1986.
The four major purposes are: publicizing Tibetan Buddhism, educating monks
and nuns, devoting oneself to the benefit of others, and promoting humanity
    as well as art education.
              The
deepest aspiration of Rincpohe is to establish and indigenize
Tibetan Buddhism in Taiwan. By means of incorporating the
essence of Tibetan Buddhism into the sino-culture, the local
people would have more access to the most subtle Dharma. Thus
modern people, in today's disordered and unsettled society, may
find a way to acquire peace and happiness as well as to know
the utmost meaning or value of life.
              To
carry out such aspiration, Rinpoche started to construct various monastic
buildings and make considerable delicate Buddha statues, hoping that
through the charms of Tibetan Buddhist art, our streams of consciousness
can be purified. Moreover, Rinpoche has dedicated himself to the
translation of Buddhist scriptures, focusing on translating the
Tantric texts of the four Yogas into Chinese. The fruit of
such exceptional efforts would be presented to you and passed on to people forever.
              In
order to spread the word of Tibetan Buddhism, Rinpoche offers
distant courses by means of hi-tech teleconferencing technology.
Every lecture is a combination of art, culture and Dharma.
It may empower you with wisdom and compassion as long as you participate
            in the programs.
